Oggi sono contenta di ospitare una donna di grande talento .

Silvia di Giochi di Carta.

L'ho scoperta su Ig (la magia di IG) e la seguo quotidianamente. Mi sono "sfogliata" i suoi post in una sera e me ne sono innamorata.

Sarà che non so fare una "O" con un bicchiere, sarà che mi innamoro delle persone di talento, sarà che lei fa delle cose meravigliose...l'ho voluta per la mia rubrica!!!

Silvia è un'illustratrice per bambini , perfetta per Baby in Wonderland, è una mamma , è una donna imprenditrice di se stessa.

Amo le donne, quelle belle, quelle sincere, quelle oneste, quelle che non strillano, quelle che lavorano all'ombra. Amo le donne leali.

Amo le donne creative.

eccomi!

Allora mi presento un po'... Ho 34 anni, sono sposata  e sono mamma di due bambini di 7 e 4 anni. Sono nata e cresciuta nella provincia di Milano, dove poi ho studiato ed iniziato a lavorare come illustratrice per l'infanzia, lavoro che svolgo da 13 anni, principalmente realizzando disegni per l'editoria scolastica.

Disegnare è stupendo ed è stata sempre la mia passione, ma negli ultimi anni non mi sentivo felice e realizzata in quello che facevo. Così mi sono presa un anno sabbatico, e ho riiniziato a creare con le mani e con la carta, anzichè con il computer e la tavoletta grafica!

Sono una persona a cui piacciono diverse cose, spesso contrastanti tra loro, così i miei lavori talvolta sono intricati e complessi, e altre volte semplici e sintetici.

Il comune denominatore è la dolcezza, l'amore, il sogno. Mi piace realizzare cose che facciano sorridere le persone che le guardano.

Mi sono innamorata dei suoi lavori.  Le sue illustrazioni sono bellissime ed ancora di più i suoi paper cut. 

Questo lo ha realizzato per il mio blog... "Take me away"... sembra perfetto per me, per questo periodo che vorrei volare via su una nuvola...

Vi dicevo dei suoi Paper cut. L'arte della pazienza. 

Da delicati ritagli nascono delle piccole opere d'arte.

Il post di ieri era dedicato a Hollye Jacobs la creatrice del blog "The silver Pen"

I've been captured at first by the images and then about her history.

She started writing the blog after being diagnosed a breast cancer.

Those images, fresh and bright, perfect for the first day of spring (look at her style...AMAZING!!! The fashionista in me is talking right now) but what caught my attention was her smile...

Yes her contagious smile gave.

Fin da subito sono stata catturata dalle immagini e subito dopo dalla sua storia.

Hollye ha iniziato a scrivere il suo blog non appena le hanno diagnosticato un cancro al seno.

Queste immagini, fresche e brillanti, perfette per il primo giorno di primavera ( guardate il suo stile...FANTASTICO!!! In questo momento è la fashionista che è in me a parlare!) mi hanno attratta ma ancor di più il suo sorriso, un sorriso contagioso.

"Non importa quanto male potessi stare, potevo sempre trovare un lato positivo e continuo a cercare i e trovare lati positivi ogni giorno!"

Isnt' it amazing? Isnt'it something that we should always think?

Non è forse fantastica come teoria?

I'm not so strong but I think I should start looking for Silver Linings in my everyday life...

Non sono così forte ma dovrei cominciare a cercare i lati positivi nella vita di tutti i giorni...

"Valdirose Christmas Blogger Reunion"

Two months ago we started organizing the reunion. The second one!

When I say "we" I'm talking about Irene, Fede, Sarah, Laura, Lelia, Ale, Michy and the new entry Cata, Zaira and Tanisha.

Quasi due mesi fa abbiamo iniziato ad organizzare la reunion. Quando dico "abbiamo" mi riferisco a Irene, Fede, Sarah, Laura, Lelia, Ale, Michy e le new entry Cata, Zaira and Tanisha.

So you can imagine the difficulty to find a day that could go for everybody. 

We decided to choose december .

Can you imagine a Christmas Reunion at Valdirose?

Breathtaking, a dream.

Potete immaginare la difficoltà di trovare un giorno a dicembre che andasse bene a tutte. Abbiamo optato per dicembre.

Vi immaginate una riunione Natalizia al Valdirose?

Da togliere il fiato, un sogno.

Saturday was the D-Day!

Sabato era il D-Day!

Woke up early, packed all the gifts for the girls, put the camera in the bag and ready to meet all the girls.

Zaire lost her train, Michy had fever!

Me, Fede, Laura, Ale and Tanisha met at the train station and...

Surprise... A stroke!

Can you believe it?

Sveglia presto, impacchetati tutti i regali per le ragazze, la macchina fotografica nella borsa e pronta ad incontrare le ragazze.

Zaira aveva perso il treno e Michy aveva la febbre!

Io, Fede, Laura , Ale e Tanisha ci siamo incontrate in stazione e ...

Sorpresa... sciopero dei treni!

Ci credete?

We waited for 3 hours to find  train to reach Valdirose but at the end we had to yeld before the facts.

We called Irene and we tell her the orrible truth!

"We can't come."

Abbiamo aspettato in stazione 3 ore nella speranza di trovare un treno per arrivare in tempo al Valdirose ma alla fine ci siamo dovute arrendere all'evidenza!

Abbiamo chiamato Irene e le abbiamo dovuto comunicare l'orribile verità.

"Non possiamo venire"

So that's the story of what happens.

Isnt' it sad?

We decided to spend the entire afternoon all together and we did a small reunion at my place.

It was a very nice afternoon but we thought every single moment to the girls in Valdirose and to what we were missing.

Fantastic decorations, good food, great company and hour friends.

Questo è il resoconto di quello che è successo.

Non è triste?

Abbiamo però deciso di passare tutto il pomeriggio insieme a casa mia.

E' stato un bel pomeriggio ma ogni singolo momento pensavamo alle altre ragazze al Valdirose e a quello che ci stavamo perdendo.

Fantastiche decorazioni, buon cibo, una meravigliosa compagnia e le nostre amiche.

Ragazze, giusto uno sciopero poteva fermarci.

Una condizione non controllabile direttamente da noi.

Mi sento di poter parlare da parte di tutte quando vi dico che saremmo venute anche a piedi se solo avessimo potuto.

Ci dispiace tantissimo, aspettavamo questo momento da troppo tempo per rivedervi e per l'energia positiva che ci rimane ogni volta che stiamo insieme.

A questo punto è d'obbligo rivederci prestissimo!

{Coriander Girl}

Today I've made one of the best discover of the last months...



Coriander Girl... Alison is a young girl from Canada that own a very cute flower and antique shop. As she say, she is " sunshine and dance parties " a fantastic description! Not only flowers, in her store you can find vintage treasures and locally made crafts, candles, lotions, soaps, teas... Actualy you can buy everything is in the store!

Coriander girl is also her blog, a "...blog about the little flower shop I own and anything else I feel compelled to share...". The name Coriander girl was "...inspired by my love for all things fresh and beautiful and Coriander being my favourite herb it seemed like a perfect fit..."



As soon as I came upon her charming blog I was totally thrilled. I've always dreamt to have a store like her store. Naif, beautiful, a corner of Paradise, the Eden!






I've read her blog entirely, from the beginning and believe me that I've loved every single post, pics, bouquets. I have a passion for old jars, old bottles and vases . She make beautiful bouquets in those amazing mason's jars, or old vase or unique vessels.

If you want you can ask her to make a bouquets in your own vase (Bing it from home!) or you can choose from a big range of vassels !

I feel that we have so much in common and she make me think to my dream and to the way I can pursue it!


I've made lots of questions to Alison (Alison, can you describe/introduce yourself to my reader?

When everything started? Did you aways loved flowers since you were a little girl or it's something you've learned lately in those years?Tell us a bit more about your store? When did you open?Do you have a favorite fLower?The secret for the perfect bouquet? I have so many question for you but I don't wanna bother you so this is the last question: do you have any advise to give to people that want to follow your example?)and here what she said:

"My name is Alison Westlake and I opened my little floral/antique shop seven months ago.

It was a total, dive in head first, kind of experience. I had always loved flowers and gardening but went to theatre school and became an actress in stead. I wasn't very happy auditioning for film and T.V and decided maybe it was time to do something more enjoyable with my life. I live in the most amazing neighborhood in Toronto, Canada. It's an eclectic mix of artists, crafters, foodies and gardeners. The shop came available and I signed the lease before I was totally sure what I wanted to do with it.


I knew I wanted a flower shop and to have vintage goods as well but the rest was kind of up in the air. I sat down at my computer and wrote a 40 page business plan and approached people for money. My start up costs weren't too bad. I needed a fridge and some furniture pieces which I sourced from local antique markets. The fridge was new and my biggest expense.

My back ground is in gardening, I worked for a landscaping company while I was in college and new back then that I would be doing something with flowers in my life.

I thought I'd have a shop in my forties when the acting career died down but I signed the lease on July 15 2009 at just thirty years of age!

My favorite flowers are peonies, lilacs, dahlias, wispy greens and berries of all kinds.

The secret to a perfect bouquet is making it look like you just grabbed a few stems while walking a long a garden path. It's harder to make something look natural in some ways.

I prefer unstructured, relaxed arrangements. Around my home, you'll see single stems in small vintage bottles all over the place.

My advice to anyone interested in pursuing their dreams, you have to do it. Take big risks and you will succeed. It's scary but their is nothing scarier to me than looking back on my life and regretting not having done something I wanted to do. Find a way to make the thing you enjoy be what you do everyday.
