D'altronde sono Alice e si da il caso che io debba conoscere "Un tè fuori di sé"

My friend Francesca (she lives in London) organized a surprise for us while we were in London.

. invited me and Mr B for an afternoon tea a "The Connaught" 

La mia amica Francesca ( vive a Londra) ha ben pensato di organizzare una bella sorpresa: ci ha invitati per uno dei famosi tè pomeridiani al "The Connaught".

I've never been invited to a tea party and as my first experience it has been F A N T A S T I C ....

We started with Champagne and sandwiches... I love butter sandwiches...!

Abbamo dato il via alle danze con Champagne e tartine... adoro le tartine al burro!

It's not something you can do every day but it's can be something you can do once in your life!

Non è qualcosa che si può fare tutti i giorni ma almeno una volta nella vita va provato!

Then a great cup of a ceylon orange pekoe tea with pastries and cakes

A seguire una tazza di ceylon orange pekoe tea con dolci e dolcetti.

and the english scones with a selection of jams...

e per finire gli scones con una selezione di marmellate

Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was amazing! Saturday I spent the entire day with my friends Fede, Irene, Laura, Cata, Alessandra and Zaira. Unfortunately Sarah, Lelia and Micaela didn't join us... there will be soon another occasion and I know we will be all together. I do not have any pics to show you. There are some moments in life that you want to keep just for yourself! 

Come è stato il vostro weekend? Il mio fantastico. Sabato ho passato l'intera giornata con le mie amiche Fede, Irene, Laura, Cata, Alessandra e Zaira. Sfortunatamente Sarah, Lelia e Micaela non erano con noi... ci sarà presto un'altra occasione e so per certo che saremo tutte insieme. Non ho foto da mostrarvi. Ci sono momenti nella vita che vuoi tenere tutti per te!

Today I want to show you my favorite store. The candian store "Anthropologie".

I visited the stores for the first time in USA few years ago and it was immediately love at first sight. Now they have opened two stores in London and a european web site where you can make your orders.

Oggi vi voglio parlare di uno dei miei negozi preferiti. Anthropologie, un negozio canadese che adesso ha aperto 2 succursali a Londra e il sito europeo grazie al quale potete fare i vostri ordini. 

They opened the first one in Regent Street.

Il primo che è stato aperto è in Regent Street

Anthropologie is a multi brand and a multi product store. You can find stuff for you and your home.

They have unusual and unique thing. 

Anthropologie è un negozio multi marca e con una vasta gamma di prodotti. Vi puoi trovare prodotti di abbigliamento, per la cura del corpo e per la casa. 

Hanno sempre cose particolarissime e uniche.

Behind the stores there is a man,  the buyer Keith Johnson. He seeks new beautiful items for the stores traveling all over the world. You can see his show (documenting his work) right here

Can you imagine a better job?

Chi si occupa degli acquisti? Dietro ai negozi c'è un uomo, Keith Johnson. Scova gli oggetti più belli viaggiando per il mondo. Potete vedere il suo show ( che documenta il suo lavoro) proprio qui

This pot is something I adore. It reminds me to my dad...

 He founded that old marmalade pot in one of his trip at the antique market in London...

Adoro questo vasetto...mi ricorda il mio babbo....

Ne trovò uno identico in un mercatino a Londra, durante uno dei suoi viaggi.

The beauty of the store  is how it is decorated and how they things are displayed.

La bellezza del negozio sta nelle decorazioni e negli allestimenti.

They have a ultra large selections of knobs...

Hanno una selezione di pomelli inimmaginabile....

They use old, vintage items to create a beautiful atmosphere... as if you are at home!

(I wish I had an home like this!)

er ricreare un ambiente rilassato proprio come quello di casa usano cose vecchie o vintage...

I love almost everything and if only I could I'd buy lots and lots of things... but it's not a cheap place so...

But the amazing thins is that you can look, you can take pics, you can touch everything and you can do it for free!

Amo quasi tutto e se solo potessi comprerei tantissime cose... ma non è un posto economicissimo e sapete...

Ma la sapete una cosa? Potete guardare, toccare, fotografare tutto...e si può farlo gratis!

{Markets - part 2}

On Sunday, a very sunny Sunday,  we went to Portobello Market is one of the most famous street markets in the world.

La domenica, una domenica soleggiata e con quell'aria pizzicorina, siamo andati a Portobello Market, uno dei mercatini più famosi al mondo.

Portobello road runs through the heart of Notting Hill (that you all know...at least for the movie)

Portobello Road attraversa il cuore di Notting Hill (che ovviamente tutti conoscete...o per lo meno per il film)

This market is famous for antique/old stuff and bric-a-brac. 

Questo mercato è soprattutto famoso per l'antiquariato e le cose vecchie! 

If you decide to visit it, to see all the store open, to be in the crowd don't go on Sunday when the stands are almost all closed as well as the biggest part of the market.

Se decidete di visitarlo, per vedere tutti i negozietti , per stare in mezzo alla gente non andate di Domenica quando quasi tutti i banchi e i negozi sono chiusi.

But, if you wont just visit the area, Sunday is perfect. No crowd, cafè open, empty street...

Ma se siete solo interessati a vistare questa parte della città, la domenica è il giorno giusto. No ressa, bar aperti, strade vuote...

You will enjoy the few stands open....

Vi godrete quei pochi banchi aperti...

You won't stand on the line for a coffee...

Non farete la fila per un caffè...

{Markets - part 1}

While in London we visited Camden Market, in Camden Town , North West London.

If you are thinking to visit it , the advise I can give you is to be there early in the morning. If you go there around lunch time you wont be able to see everything... Too much people!

Mentre eravamo a Londra abbiamo visitato Camden Market, a Camden Town, North West London.

Se avete intenzione di visitarlo, il consiglio che mi sento di darvi è di farlo alla mattina presto. Se invece andrete verso l'orario di pranzo non riuscirete a vedere tutto con calma...Troppa gente!

I didn't remember how beautiful it is. Food from all over the world, lots of stands and a magic surprise...

the popular "Stable Market".

Non mi ricordavo quanto fosse bello. Cibo da tutto il mondo, tantissimi banchi e una magica sorpresa...

"Stable Market".

It's definitely the kind of place I love where you can find beautiful unusual treasures, if you look carefully!

E' decisamente il tipo di mercatino che mi piace visitare dove si possono trovare insoliti tesori, se si guarda attentamente!

Now I understand what Alice felt when arrived in Wonderland!

Adesso capisco cosa provò Alice quando "cadde" nel Paese delle Meraviglie...

Imagine a kid in a Toy's store...

I felt the same...

Immaginatevi un bambino in un negozio di giochi... mi sentivo nello stesso modo!

The part I've love the most is the "Antique Market". Lots of vintage and antique stores. 

Naturalmente la mia zona preferita è quella dei negozietti dell'antiquariato. Vestiti vintage e antiquari, il paradiso!

Luggages, luggages and luggages...

Valigie , valigie e ancora valigie...

Alice: Well, I haven't had any yet, so I can't very well take more...

and I din't even buy a cup....

e io non ho comprato nemmeno una tazzina...

too many beautifl things and my little luggage....that's why I din't buy a thing (only a steel hotel teapot) and you know what?

they were really cheap!

Troppe belle cose e una piccola valigia...questo è il vero motivo per cui non ho fatto acquisti (solo una teiera da hotel!) e sapete una cosa? Tutto era così economico...!

As soon as our plane landed a thick misty rain welcomed us.

Non appena il nostro aereo è atterrato una fitta pioggerellina ci ha dato il benvenuto.

While we walk under the umbrella, english people seems to ignore the rain. By now it's like they don't notice it.

Mentre noi camminiamo coperti dai nostri ombrelli, gli inglesi sembra ignorino la pioggia (fastidiosa!).

Ormai non se ne accorgono nemmeno più!

When a ray of light comes out of the clouds they ride their bike as if nothing had happened just a minute before...

quando un raggio di sole esce dalle nuvole inforcano le loro biciclette come nulla fosse...

They enjoy every single ray of light ... they are not used to them!

Si godono ogni singolo raggio di sole... ma d'altronde ne vedono così pochi!

The rain was our "tour guide" for the entire first day...but who cares? We were on vacation in London...

La pioggia è stata la nostra guida turistica per tutto il primo giorno, ma che importa! Eravamo in vacanza a Londra!

I love every single obvious thing of London, the red phone box...

Amo tutti i simboli di Londra, le cabine del telefono, quelle rose che stanno ormai sparendo!

the buses, the monuments, the pubs, the bobbies.

I love even their foods...strange...I know!

Gli autobus a due piani, i pubs, i loro poliziotti con i loro buffi cappelli.

Amo perfino il loro cibo...lo so vi sembrerà strano!
