This is what I mean about "shabby".
White is the predominant color and the touch of red, green, blue and other bright colors on the accessories and in all the details give a romantic touch to all the rooms.
The furnitures look like that they have been discovered at the flea market (I think they have an Ikea armchair and also the kitchen).
What I love on the pics above is the floor: parquet painted in square white&grey (typical palette of the North Europe).
This is the house of the creative potter artist Lena Alssram. She lives in the village of Höganäs in the Swedish countryside. Her house is filled with her own creations.
I think that this room, very simple, is justthe perfection and it gives me a particular feeling. Imagine to read your book or listen your fav music in that armchair, after a bad hard day!
Don't you?
That house is the perfect exemple that also if you do not have an high budget to furnish your house but you have immagination and cretivity you can create your dream house that will have your touch and a very impressive personality

I love the purity of Swedish style, especially since there's always a splash of whimsy & color somewhere. Ny favorite piece is the distressed dresser the roughness the years of paint loss...a think of it as a painted patina.
