{Once upon a time...}

... a beautiful wardrobe lived in a very nice home with a very nice family...

One day , the owner decided to move in a new home with her fiancé and she decided that the wardrobe should go with her...

The wardrobe was worried about the idea to leave that family. It lived in that house for more then 20 years and he adored his little room. The owner, instead, was so happy to take it to the new home because she felt like having piece of her family with her, they lived toghether for so long that she didn't want to grow away from it! The wardrobe, at the end, happily accepted to move!

Before to move it need a little rejuvenation. It needs to change his style. Born at the end of the '800 it always had the same look. It only changed the color for his second move (his first was from England...but it's a long long story) when it arrived at her owner's home. It was brown and became pale pink...

So the works began...

First of all the owner ( with the help of her fantastic assistant!) took off the wall paper that cover the inside of the wardrobe, then the old paint ( I know it was the hard part! They used some chemical product that smell terribly) , sand the wardrobe entirely and started with the prime base.

Then they started with the paint. They have chosen two colors. Two different grey. It's a good choice...at my age grey is perfect! Sober, strong with personality!

Fortunately she used a fantastic paint and I felt very happy and curious about the result!
It took more than 3 weeks to see it but it worthed the wait!

After having painted twice they (the owner and her assistant!) were not completely satisfied and so they decided to make some stripes... Good decision! I have to say that my owner has a lot of ideas and she know what she does!

What have I said? Stripes are amazing, don't you think?

To embellish me more, they added some console tables, some decor and the chicken wire and ...

... TO BE CONTINUED...

Don't miss the end of the story and the result!

The lucky winner is....

The adorable, cute and amazing Mel from Reverie Daydream.

{Feeling happy...}

Finally the weekend!

It's almost 2 weeks that I'm working non stop all day long to my new house!
I don't feel tired, just a bit stressed maybe but not tired 'cause it's really something that makes me happy! So, to me, the weekend won't be relax!

As I've already told you, I've chosen the palette color for the entire house... A bit of white, a bit of grey (2 greys) and a bit of ecru all over! The office/2nd room will be more in the shade of ecru, the striped curtains are made in linen as well as part of the pillows!

I'm doing almost everything I can with the precious help of my mom: paint, sew, fix old furnitures, create my pillows, the curtains, think to the disposition of the furnitures and organizing the move!

(my mom's hands)

Mr B is very helpful almost in all the bureaucratics matter! I'm the "artist", more creative and he loves how I'm working and how I'v trasformed the old wardrobe in a new sideboard or the bed in a sofa!I will show you everything...promis!

Those old buttons will fill my jars!

This is the old sewing machine I use! It's my granny's ! I have a modern machine too, but the old is fantastic! i'm not as good as my mom, she's more accurate that's why she does the dirty jobs, like to sew by hand ! I'm not good at all!

(photos by me)

So, my weekend won't be relaxing but I'm too happy to complain about it!

I'm going to Tuscany to celebrate the Queen of My Heart (in the pics she's the one with the red lipstick) 'cause it's her birthday and to take chairs, lights, fabrics, and more things for the my nest!

Have a great weekend ladies! I look forward to hear how are you, what will you do, any particular news! Write me I'm happy to read your nice comment!

p.s.: my giveaway it's just postponed!

pp.s: don't forget to visit Dreamy Whites and to enter "The Well-Dressed Home Giveaway"

Love you ... just the way you are!

{Bright Swedish life}

Carola and her husband Nisse with their 2 children live in this beautiful house. She's the owner of an Interior design store in Malmo, you can imagine from those pics how beautiful the store has to be!

I love the white floor, it gives light and space to the rooms. I love the white-on-white color scheme of this fantastic house.

This is the Shabby style I love... Recycled material, natural fabrics, second hand furnitures and lots and lots of details... flower, pillows, candles... I can't wait to start with my home!

Now that I have to decor my new home I need to find more inspiration to define the style that I'd love to reach for my nest!
White, grey, cream and old furnitures are my starting point then everythings else will arrive consequently!

I'm so excited...can't wait to show you everything!

{Avoca Anthology}

Avoca's family-run business that spans one of the world's oldest surviving manufacturing companies and Ireland's stores.

I've been to Dublin few years ago and I've just remembered that I've visited it and I felt in love immediately with every single piece... Mr B didn't like it very much ... He waited me outside the store . Actually he liked it but it was tired to wait outside all the Dublin's stores ...

Avoca is a kind of "Anthropologie", a mini department store, a great fashion and lifestyle store. They sell Accessories, Homewares, Hampers & Food, books and many more...

They have restaurants and cafè inside thier store...to relax after a bit f shopping.... I bet you won't go out without a dress or an accessory!

{Stylish cosy B&B}

Summer is just finished and I'm already thinking where to go next time...

Locanda Villa Toscana is the place where I'd like to escape after a long week in the city. I discovered this enchanted Bed & Breakfast thanks to Casa Chic, my fav interior design magazine, that dedicated a long fascinating story, "Emotion to live", on the October issue. The owner is Mriquita Papi, interior designer owner of the interior company "Villa Toscana".

Locanda Villa Toscana is in the little village of Bibbona, retired on a hill in Tuscany, not far from the sea and immersed among wonderful olive trees and vineyards.

Locanda Villa Toscana is an old old village house, a place where everybody can feel at home thanks to the simplicity and the elegance of the furnishings, the relaxing atmosphere and the hospitality of the owner.
The color palette of the furnitures and the walls, the suffused light and the refined taste of the fabrics are the soul of this nest where you can take refuge...

All the fornitures and the ornamental goods are "A tribute to imperfection that turns into exclusiveness" as they say. The style is a mix from Tuscany traditions and Provence

Shabby chic furnitures and Toile de Jouy are all over the house. All the rooms haven't a defined style but they have in common an armony and an elegance...

All the fornitures and the ornamental goods are "A tribute to imperfection that turns into exclusiveness" as they say. The style is a mix from Tuscany traditions ( the floor and the plaster) and Provence traditions too.

What's wrong with me? Summer finished and I wanna leave again and soon!

How are you ladies? How was your monday? Mine was rain, rain and still rain and freezing! In one week will be Autumn that means that I'll have to wait 9 months before to wear again sandals and swim-suits! I love fall, I know it has something fascinating but when you get used to hot and sunny days it's difficult to get back to grey and rainy days!

And for the happy ending we had earth tremor ....
